No-Dig Kick-off Breakfast & Entertainment

All full conference attendees are invited to kick-off the 2009 International No-Dig Show with fantastic food and special entertainment during this crowd-pleasing event. The highlights of the breakfast are the presentation of the prestigious 2009 Trenchless Technology Person of the Year award and the 2008 Outstanding Papers in Rehabilitation and New Installation special awards.

“That Canadian Guy” to Entertain at Kick-off Breakfast

We are happy to have comedian Glen Foster join us at the 2009 International No-Dig Show Kick-off Breakfast. Glen Foster is quickly becoming a household name among comedy fans. Or, perhaps more correctly, a household “non-name,” since adopting the moniker “That Canadian Guy” (a joke based on the idea that audiences often can’t remember the names of comedians they see on television). A veteran of the Canadian comedy scene, Glen has been a popular headliner for more than 25 years. His Gemini-nominated comedy special “That Canadian Guy” struck a chord for its hilarious, but dead-on portrayal of the conflicted Canadian psyche. Glen’s comedy appeals to those people who appreciate a more intelligent and slightly “edgy” brand of humor. His material is mostly clean and always clever, topical and timely, reflecting his own experiences, as well as current events and popular culture. Inaddition to his special, Glen has made seven appearances on CBC’s “Just for Laughs” and has also performed on numerous other television shows including "The Winnipeg Comedy Festival," “Halifax Comedy Festival,” “The Mike Bullard Show,” and “Comedy at Club 54.”  He can also be heard frequently on CBC Radio’s “The Debaters.”

2009 Person of the Year

Nominated by peers and selected by a committee of industry professionals, this award honors an individual who has made a profound and lasting impression on the trenchless industry. The criteria used during the selection process include innovation, market development and project completion and industry leadership and vision. The 2009 Person of the Year will be announced in the March issue of Trenchless Technology.
